How Does Hair Restoration Work?
Hair restoration with PRP is a non-surgical hair loss treatment that utilizes the healing properties of platelets, a major component of your blood. By releasing growth factors, stem cells, and proteins, platelets stimulate hair follicle health and promote hair regrowth. This treatment is especially effective for addressing patterned hair loss, such as male pattern baldness and thinning hair.
What Happens During the Procedure?
During your PRP hair restoration session, a small amount of blood is drawn and placed in a centrifuge to separate the platelets from the rest of the blood. The concentrated PRP is then injected into the scalp at the site of thinning or hair loss. Typically,
three sessions are spaced
4 weeks apart, with a
fourth session scheduled
six months from the initial treatment.

Before Your Appointment
What to Know Before Treatment
Before your PRP hair restoration treatment, we recommend avoiding:
- Caffeine
- Anti-inflammatory medications
- Blood-thinning medications
Try to refrain from these at least 24 hours prior to your session.
The procedure itself takes approximately 45 minutes, and we include Pronox (laughing gas) and topical numbing for your comfort. The treatment also includes 1 year of minoxidil and a microneedling hair roller to enhance results. Results typically begin to appear within 8 weeks after the first session.
Recovery and Aftercare
After your PRP treatment, you may notice small bumps at the injection sites, which will subside within a few hours. To enhance the effects of the PRP, we recommend taking a warm shower at home to help the serum penetrate deeper into the scalp.
Additional aftercare guidelines include:
- Avoid sun exposure on the treated area for at least 2 days
- Refrain from strenuous activities for 2 days
- No alcohol, caffeine, cigarettes, or anti-inflammatories for at least 2 days
